Crafting the perfect college essay can be an agonizing process, filled with questions big and small. What do I want to say? What experiences, skills or gifts do I have that convey my ability to grow and succeed? And above all, how do I make a lasting impact in less than 650 words?

Take a deep breath before you consider these next few words. You don't have to be THE BEST WRITER EVER to craft the perfect college essay, you just have to know which story to tell.

And that's where I can help. I'm a New York Times published essayist with a degree in English from The University of Michigan. My essays have been featured by The Washington Post, NPR, Huffington Post, Redbook and many more. I've also consulted on dozens of college essays and with my help, students have been admitted to top-tier universities including The University of Michigan, Michigan State, Texas State, University of Texas and many more. In addition, I'm the parent of three college aged students, one who is currently in a master's program at U of M.

 

My  job as a college essay consultant isn't to instruct your college senior on what essay is required and how to write it. Any talented high school English teacher can guide your student through that process with precision.

What I provide goes beyond and digs deeper, into the why. We will explore the moments big and small that shaped your student into being and examine them through the lens of growth. We will translate normal (or not so normal) life challenges (the struggles, the aches, the changes) into meaningful, well-crafted reflections that showcase your students individual abilities and strengths.

Your student's college essay doesn't have to be monumental or even distinctly unique. But the story they tell has to be uniquely theirs, expressed in a way that only they can tell it.

Of course, we will polish and edit along the way, fine-tuning and adjusting as we go. That's the easy part.
